An evening of the music of Jimmy Van Heusen, composer of the soundtrack of the Midcentury, with multi-talented songstress A J Lambert, granddaughter of Frank Sinatra and daughter of Nancy Sinatra, in a one-night-only special Modernism Week cabaret performance.
This intimate evening of song in the elegant Annenberg Theater will include songs written by Jimmy Van Heusen; songs made famous by her grandfather, Frank Sinatra; and accompanied by a pianist and jazz trio including drum set, stand up bass and guitar. "I had the ultimate inside access," Lambert says. "I learned how to interpret songs through my grandfather, who was as special a person as you can imagine. He taught me how to express myself through music, which was an invaluable lesson."
The Palm Springs Historical Society and Modernism Week present this performance. Be sure to see the exhibition on Jimmy Van Heusen on display during Modernism Week at the Palm Springs Historical Society, 221 South Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs, CA 92262. pshistoricalsociety.org
