You are in for something special! Don’t miss this rare chance to attend an elegant cocktail reception at the stunning cliffside Siva/Russell residence overlooking Palm Springs. On the day of the Paul Rudolph Symposium, a limited number of Modernism Week guests will have the rare opportunity to attend an exclusive sunset cocktail reception at the rarely-open-to-the-public Siva/Russell residence. This 1959 mountainside residence at the top of Palisades Drive was designed by modernist Hugh Kaptur and features an eye-popping 180-degree view of Palm Springs from the home’s glass-windowed walls. Albert Frey designed the property's infinity pool (the first in Palm Springs), and the property features more than 3,000 square feet of outdoor terraces, a 30-foot waterfall and koi pond. Inside the residence, guests will be able to view an astonishing collection of significant midcentury modern decor from a variety of famed midcentury modern international designers. Movie producer Alan Carr allegedly threw legendary parties at the residence, and now you can partake in this experience too!
Enjoy top-of-the-line cocktails and exquisite passed hors d'oeuvres plus a special guest appearance by the home’s revered architect, Hugh Kaptur. This special reception honors Paul Rudolph, one of America’s leading midcentury architects.
Shuttles will transport guests the short distance up to and back from the residence. This ticket is for the sunset cocktail reception 5 - 7:30 p.m. Guests who attend this event also have the option to attend the Rudolph Symposium (with guaranteed preferred seating) from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Annenberg Theater in the Palm Springs Art Museum. They also have the option of touring anytime in the afternoon of the Walker Guest House Replica (located between the Art Museum and the Kimpton Rowan Hotel, downtown Palm Springs).
