“What would garden design be without a palette of color, a sense of composition and structure, a playful line between nature and culture?”—Rik Gadella, General Manager Pha Tad Ke Botanical Garden, Laos.

For three years, Chris Woods traveled the world in search of new and remarkable garden and landscape design and now presents his curated collection of the best contemporary gardens from around the globe. Chosen for their innovative design, unique plant palette, and forward-thinking approach to garden making, these are not the palace grounds of centuries past, they are gardens of our time that look to the future. With wit and humor, Woods reveals the fascinating stories of the people and plants that make these gardens lust-worthy. Christopher Woods is an adventurous biophiliac who has spent his life immersed in the worlds of horticulture, design and garden making. He is best known for his 20 years transforming Chanticleer into the world-class ‘pleasure garden’ it is today. He has served as vice president for horticulture at the Santa Barbara Botanical Garden; director of the Van Dusen Botanical Garden in Vancouver, Canada; executive director of the Mendocino Coast Botanical Garden; and director of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s Meadowbrook Farm. He lives in California and continues to travel the world in search of the best-constructed and wild landscapes.

Immediately following the presentation, Mr. Woods will be signing copies of the book Gardenlust.
