New to photography? Stuck in “Auto” mode? Maybe you just can’t seem to get your pictures to look right? Join professional photographer Andrew Pielage for his Introduction to Photography Workshop. Palm Springs and its midcentury modern architecture is the backdrop for this photographic journey. The historic, Class 1 designated and recently restored Kaptur Plaza, by renowned desert modernist architect Hugh Kaptur, will be the base of operations. Learn the tools needed to take control of your camera including aperture, shutter speed and ISO. Learning the rules of composition and consideration of light and shadow will help participants continue to grow in their creativity and skill at commercial and residential architectural photography for exteriors, interiors, and during sunrise, sunset and night time conditions. Workshop is limited to 12 so each participant receives ample personal attention.

Internationally published architecture and travel photographer Andrew Pielage has over 20 years of experience doing what he loves – creating new progressive ways to capture our world through the camera lens. In recent years he turned his attention to photographing the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright. Catching the attention of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and impressed with his work, Andrew has become the Foundation’s lead photographer. Architecture buffs have seen many photographs of Wright’s best-known buildings over the years, but none quite like his work. Pielage’s photographs are beautiful, arresting and transformative, providing a view of FLW’s architecture as never experienced before. apizm.com Program is based on workshops that Andrew conducts at Fallingwater and Taliesen West.
