Join the Palm Springs Preservation Foundation for two free events celebrating the life and work of modernist architect Hugh Michael Kaptur. First on the schedule is the dedication of “Hugh M. Kaptur Way” at the east end of Kaptur Plaza (originally known as Tahquitz Plaza). Through the efforts of PSPF, Kaptur Plaza was designated a Class 1 Historic Site by the city of Palm Springs in December of 2015. Immediately following the street naming, we invite you to join us at nearby Koffi Central (650 East Tahquitz Canyon Way) for the unveiling of an over-sized architectural rendering of the Kaptur-designed complex. Free coffee and mini-muffins generously provided by Koffi Central. Hugh Kaptur is scheduled to attend.
The Palm Springs Preservation Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is “to educate and promote public awareness of the importance of preserving the historical resources and architecture of the city of Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley area.” PSPF offers free membership as a public benefit.
