Full Details

Celebrate the stunning Old Las Palmas neighborhood of Palm Springs with a chic cocktail reception at the French Regency-style former home of fashion designer, James Galanos. Wear your best Nancy Reagan red in his honor or something a bit more on the hipster side, as another previous owner founded The ACE hotel chain. The original interior design was done by Hal Broderick, a co-founder of Arthur Elrod, Ltd. The stunning home features 12’ high floor to ceiling French doors, which open the living room to the resort-style pool decks. Guests may explore the current owner’s collection of original drawings by celebrities like Tony Danza and Fred Willard and enjoy the hilarious covers of vintage National Inquirers touting the existence of UFO’s and wild celebrity scandals that adorn a full wall in the living room.

A portion of proceeds from this event benefit the Mizell Senior Center’s Meals On Wheels Program. Last year, the program delivered 170,000 meals to homebound seniors from Whitewater to the Salton Sea and an additional 52,000 meals to nine congregate meal sites at senior and community centers across the Coachella Valley. As our population ages, so does the need for our services. Thank you for supporting the Mizell Senior Center by joining us for a peek inside this classic Palm Springs residence.
